The Golden Globes are back on your TV, and they’re ready to prove why. Following a year of being in the doghouse because of a lack of diversity in their voting body, the 2023 Globes are returning to NBC on January 10 with Jerrod Carmichael in tow as host. But first, the HFPA queued up Selenis Leyva and Mayan Lopez to announce its nominations on December 12. The Globes are known for having a … fun taste in movies and TV, like when they nominated season two of Smash for Best TV Series, Musical or Comedy, or when The Tourist was nominated for Best Film, Musical or Comedy, even though it’s a drama. This year, the awards went tragicomic with The Banshees of Inisherin taking the most nominations. The TV categories saw a lot of nominations for shows that seem as if they aired just yesterday. And, in the case of The White Lotus season two, it literally did. The votes are in, but will the industry even care? Strap yourself in for the bumpiest roller-coaster ride of awards season. Below, the nominations for the 80th annual Golden Globe Awards.
