More than 25 years after the finale of Star Trek: The Next Generation, CBS has dropped the official trailer for its new series, Star Trek: Picard. And excuse us for getting a bit blubbery, but it’s like our great Admiral never left. This trailer tells us that Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) left Starfleet after leading “the greatest rescue armada in history,” and judging by his lush vineyard surroundings in France, the Trek legend has been spending a quiet life as a vintner since “the unimaginable” happened to him. “I came here to find safety,” he explains, “but one is never safe from the past.” Oh yeah, and Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, and Jonathan Frakes are also back in action. Cue the tissues! The 10-episode series will premiere on January 23, 2020.
